Teams across the globe are getting ready to be part of a football festival like no other. The chance to play on an English Premiership Club’s pitch doesn’t often come about and so teams are jumping at the opportunity to stake their claim to fame.
The inaugural World Corporate Cup of Soccer was hosted by Manchester United in 2008 and then Manchester City FC in 2009 before Liverpool Football Club were then delighted to become the Host Club in 2010. Since then LFC and the World Corporate Cup have offered the unique opportunity for football fans and players alike to be part of a 3 day football festival that includes the ultimate mix of Sport, Business and Tourism. The euphoria of guaranteeing every team at least one game on the hallowed turf at Anfield is very attractive to any footballer – it doesn’t matter who you support or where you’re from!
The 5th World Corporate Cup of Soccer will be held on the 11-13th May. The football festival has a Soccer 6 and Soccer 11 competition that runs concurrently and entry is open to any size or type of organisation. Sadly the 24 Soccer 11 teams have already been confirmed but a few Soccer 6 spaces are available! Teams enter from across the globe as they look to capitalise on the Corporate Benefits which include the likes of building team-morale while also creating employee confidence, loyalty and improving health and fitness in the workplace. Organisations also enjoy the name and brand recognition they receive while also looking to seize the opportunities to meet new business clients as well as develop relationships with current clients.
Though football is the heartbeat of the festival, the event wouldn’t be complete without the vast array of Cup Celebrations which are hosted in the historic and luxurious suites at Anfield. On Friday evening the teams enjoy the SuperCentre Celebration in the Paisley Suite where they register in person, pick up their Souvenir Programme and Cup Gift as well as have a drink with the teams. On Saturday evening after the Pool Play has been completed at the Walton Soccer Centre, the teams are part of the Opening Celebration and Grand Parade of Teams and then let their hair down while singing and dancing at the World Corporate Cup Party. On the Sunday, the teams all enjoy their time on Anfield in the elimination and final stages of their respective events and after the hard-fought elimination matches and finals have concluded the weekend is wrapped up in fine fashion as the Closing Awards Celebration is held in the historic and awe-inspiring Trophy Room at Anfield.
Entry into the World Corporate Cup is on a first-come-first-served basis.
There is a Men’s Soccer 6 (Open and 30+ competition), Women’s Soccer 6 (Open) and a Men’s Soccer 11 (Open and 30+) competition.
Teams will be representing the likes of Barclaycard, Royal Sun Alliance, Capital International, Ernst & Young, Citibank, The McGraw Hill Company, Shop Direct Group, CERN, Swiss Post, Bibby Financial Services, Posturite, Gibro Corporate Management, Exedy Clutch Europe, Eco Environment, Go Cre8, Abbey Logistics, Plymouth YMCA, AFC Burton, Woodlands Hospice, Sonex, Big New City, Goldman Sachs, University of Liverpool, Saffron Walden LFC, Silver Star Sports, MS Plastering & Property Maintenance and many more.
Organisations from countries such as Gibraltar, Croatia, Finland, Ireland, Switzerland, Nigeria, Russia, France and England have already entered as they recognise that the Cup Entry Fee is one of the best investments their organisation will ever make and so this is your last chance to join them in Liverpool in May!
