Anfield is preparing to open its doors again in 2012 for the eagerly-anticipated return of the World Corporate Cup of Soccer. This worldwide soccer festival continues to grow in appeal as it dedicates three days to football, business and tourism in the City of Liverpool.
Following its sell-out success in 2011, this year’s event coincides with the end of the Premiership season and is staged across the 11 – 13 May 2012.
With Premiership teams clashing all over the UK for the last games of the season, teams representing clubs and organisations from all over the UK, Europe and beyond will get the chance to battle it out on the hallowed Anfield turf for this year’s World Corporate Cup titles.
“I’ll always remember the 22nd May 2011 as the day I stepped onto the Anfield turf, facing the Kop end with Fire in the Belly!”
recalls Ariff Razzaq, Captain for LFC London, one of the many teams who competed in the 2011 event re-living their victories at the stadium. Another teammate added:
“Playing at Anfield was like a dream come true. The feeling is hard to explain…the player’s entrance, player’s tunnel, touching the famous sign, the changing rooms and finally the famous pitch – playing towards the Kop end. We all had great memories from this tournament.”
Enquiries are already flooding in as the word spreads throughout the corporate and footballing community alike. Those patriotic to the Reds, in Liverpool as well as the rest of the world, are eager to be a part of this prestigious event, with 11 and 6-a-side competitions for the men and for the ladies too. With entries limited and awarded on a first-come first-served basis – the event is expected to be a record sell-out in 2012.

“It was a truly memorable experience that will live with me forever. The spirit of the tournament was overwhelming and the games were played with good sportsmanship. The experience of playing at Anfield as a Liverpool fan was unforgettable and the access afforded to us by the club was unbelievable.”
