The Yacht Club Catering – The Yacht Club supplied the catering and some of the entertainment over the Games weekend both for the Games and for many of the competing companies too. They developed an outstanding entertainment offer at the Great Games party with the innovative “silent disco” and the fabulous sets from MD Productions particularly popular. Issues related to the drinks tokens have been accepted and we will all ensure that cash bars are operated at all Games Party’s in the future. That said, the Games Headline Band “Indio Black” were on top form once again! They have proven themselves to be the ultimate crowd-pleaser’s and when their fabulous high tempo sets were combined with the incredible atmospheric back-drop of St George’s Hall – there is no doubt that this made it a night to remember for everyone in attendance. Roll on 2015!

Excel worked hard to ensure that this document was chocked full of information to help everyone involved over the Games weekend. They delivered on time to our exact specifications and it is clear to see why they are leaders in this field.
St John Ambulance – Despite the friendly camaraderie and excellent spirit across the weekend, contact injuries often occur. It was great to have our First Aid Partners St John taking care of this element for us. They had a massive team across the weekend spread around the region and even brought in cycle responders to cover a number of sites. St John have vast experience and have been our First Aid Partners for many events for a number of years.
SOC’s and Officials – We had an army of Sport Organising Committee members, referees, umpires and marshals from the Governing Bodies of Sport, Local Clubs and sports Associations and they all gave it their best shot to deliver a terrific experience on each of the sports despite the challenges of the inclement conditions on the Friday and Saturday morning. Thanks to each and every one of you for your commitment and efforts to stage the Games.
Terrific Venues – We are thankful to all of our great venue partners, from Alan Smith and the brilliant team at St George’s Hall to all of the fabulous sports venues, to Melody Beard and the events team at Liverpool One. There is a lot to be proud of in Liverpool and we worked hard to showcase a selection of the very best facilities in the Liverpool City region.
Host of Suppliers – We had literally hundreds of suppliers from Adlib Audio and Lighting, to the Batala Samba Band and the Singing Our Socks Off Choir, multiple equipment suppliers – the list goes on and on. We cannot name you all but thanks to each and every one of you, we will never forget your support.
Which brings me finally to the City Stars volunteer network. We must mention the outstanding Helpers of the City Stars. Without doubt one of the most friendly and efficient volunteer networks in the World. We used more than 100 helpers from the City to help us manage the SuperCentre, the Grand Parade and even support the marshalling at some of the sports. Each one of the volunteers came armed with a broad smile, real pride in their City and some great skills too. We were delighted to give them this opportunity and they all made the City proud.
As always, the last thank you is reserved for you – the competing individuals, our wonderful Team Leaders and our competing organisations. Hopefully this message gives you a glimpse of how much we have to do to deliver a Games of this magnitude – but without people like you seizing the challenge to enter- there cannot be a Games anywhere in the world. We are proud to work with you and we will continue to work hard to deliver even better experiences and opportunities for you and your Organisations in the future. Hope to see you again soon.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone that contributed to the successful staging World Corporate Games Liverpool 2014.
