With just a month to go until the inaugural Europe Corporate Cup of Netball takes place at Fenton Manor, the excitement is really starting to build. The team from the Corporate Games Worldheadquarters (who successfully staged the UK Corporate Games 2015 in Stoke and Staffordshire) have partnered with England Netball the sports Governing Body to deliver this event for netball players of all abilities.
Play will commence at Fenton Manor, which is one of the largest indoor netball facilities in the region and the ideal venue to host this event on Saturday the 17th September. Everyone is eligible to enter.
Local teams from Staffs Police will be put through their paces by travelling teams from elsewhere in the UK like London based Ernst and Young.
Phil Fortune, Chief Inspector of Staffordshire Police said
“It has been really worthwhile for members of the Staffs Police Sports Association to take part in the Corporate Games, and we look forward to doing so again in 2017 as well as in the Europe Corporate Cup of Netball on ‘home territory’ in Stoke on Trent in September.
The sport is competitive but fun, with the teambuilding and networking a real plus to come out of our involvement in the sporting and social activities that collectively make the Corporate Games a unique experience.”
Though netball is one of the most popular sports in the country for women there is also a mixed netball event in this years Europe Corporate Cup of Netball, so male players can also get a chance to play.
Events staged by the Games team are always fully inclusive so people of all ages and abilities are eligible to play. Games Director Ben Sedgemore said ” our events open to all for the benefit of all. We have staged netball events in the UK where 3 generations of the same family have participated in the same team so age is certainly not a barrier. We encourage people of all abilities to get involved too from great players to total newcomers. Everyone will play a series of fixtures regardless of how they perform and hopefully this can be a catalyst for new players to start playing netball from the Stoke area.”
The Europe Corporate Cup programme has be hosted in Stoke to celebrate the City’s European City of Sport accolade and the City Council and local organisers hope that it will deliver genuine benefits for all of the companies involved. England Netball will be assisting with the management and delivery of the event so it should be a great day.
Teambuilding, health and well-being in the work place, brand exposure and networking opportunities are just some of the many benefits on offer in addition to the boost in morale and productivity of the workforce.
Entries close on the 7th September so there is still time to enter your teams for the women’s competition, the mixed or both.
Maybe you might get to stand on the podium like these lucky netball medallists.
