“Sport for All. All for Sport.”
Decathlon, dubbed the world’s largest sports retailer, is throwing down the gauntlet as the newest Platinum Champion for the UK Corporate Games Coventry 2013.
The industry giants, who employ more than 40,000 staff across a staggering 18 countries and some 540+ stores, are joining in the celebration of sport for the everyday athlete with 100 staff entries into the Games, due to take place in Coventry later this July.
Headquartered in Villeneuve D’Ascq, France, the company was founded in 1976 and quickly grew over a short space of time, spreading into Europe, making its debut appearance into the UK in the year 2000 and going on to challenge new markets in South America, Russia and Asia.
With its specialism in sporting goods, its growing popularity is earned through the stock and supply of over 30,000 different products across 70+ unique sports – as well as the recognition of over 130 global brands both in-store and online.
As a multi-platform sports equipment and clothing provider, Decathlon is undoubtedly a fantastic addition to our list of Games Champions. Rival teams are anxious to see what the Decathlon team will be entering this July, where 100 lucky staff will get the opportunity to represent Decathlon at the Corporate Games across a variety of different sports.
Doug White, National Sales Manager for the Games commented:
“Decathlon is a perfect match for the Corporate Games, as it represents the broadest selection of sporting disciplines, offering precision equipment and clothing for both the elite and the amateur athlete alike. We are excited to see what the Decathlon team will bring to the table at this July’s event – we know several of our teams are eagerly anticipating some good solid competition from the sports retail giants.”
