Cape Town Corporate Games 2014

Originating in San Francisco in 1988 and rapidly growing in popularity each year, we are excited to announce that the third annual Cape Town Corporate Games will take place from 5-8 June 2014, with the V&A Waterfront playing host once again. What better venue than this to showcase the best that Cape Town has to offer?

Dr. Ivan Meyer Picture

We have great pleasure in announcing MEC Dr Ivan Meyer as our 2014 Patron. The Games has welcomed a great partnership between the Western Cape Government and the business sector, with previous patrons including the likes of Helen Zille, Patricia de Lille, Elana Meyer and Bulelwa Makalima-Ngewana. Meyer believes that “sport unites, promotes fitness, builds team spirit and brings a wide spectrum of backgrounds together”. Various networking and sponsorship opportunities have been created for the participating companies, creating a perfect blend of sport, business and tourism. We thank Shell, Sanlam, the V&A Waterfront and the Western Cape Government for their continued support and welcome them back to this year’s Games! The number of companies participating last year doubled from the previous year, and we look forward to seeing familiar faces, as well as many new ones competing across 15 different sporting codes. We also welcome first-timers to the Games, namely Bizcommunity.com, South African Airways and Excelian Limited.

The Corporate Games offers companies a platform to provide their employees with initiatives to create further awareness around the importance of healthy lifestyles, promoting teamwork by competing in sports ranging from soccer to action cricket to chess, so there’s something for everyone! With less than five months to go to this year’s Games, find out more about how your business can get active, get networking and get involved by visiting our website on www.corporate-games.com.

The second edition of the Cape Town Corporate Games will take place over the weekend of 06 – 09 June 2013. Our host venue is the V&A Waterfront which add great value to the event and is expected to advance Cape Towns development as a sport, business and tourism destination.

The V&A Waterfront is Challenging Sanlam by also Joining the 100 Club Members

There is a big buzz in the Corporate world as the V&A Watefront have announce that they will be joining the 100 Club Members together with Sanlam.

Competition is high and the teams are eager to start training and showing off their mean sporting skills.

Seeing that Sanlam walked away with the Sport For Life award and won the Medalist Award in 2012, just to name a few, the V&A Waterfront has some tough competition.

Let’s hope the V&A Waterfront have started shaping up and are preparing in full force for next years Games.

The Sport For Life Grand Award recognises commitment to company spirit, employee fitness and the value of participation in the Cape Town Corporate Games. It is awarded to the Organisation entering the largest number of athletes. Sanlam entered a whopping 189 team member in the Cape Town Corporate Games in 2012.

The Medalist Award is presented to the Organisation which wins the most medals in the Games and Sanlam has set an excellent total to be challenged in future Games.

If you believe, like the V&A Waterfront, that your company has the dedication and team spirit to go up against Sanlam’s impressive record of last year, join the 100 Members Club and sign up for the Gold Championship Scheme.

The Worldwide Corporate Sports Community recognizes the 100 Members Club on a global platform and media coverage includes a web link on the Corporate Games Website which has over 2million hits a year, company logo and a 100 Club write up in the Souvenir Programme. The 100 Members Club are awarded with branding opportunity at selected sports venue’s and exhibition space at the SuperCentre Registration.

Ensure that you start off with Gold at this years Games by choosing the Gold Championship Scheme and join Sanlam and the V&A Waterfront in the 100 Members Club.

So practice until the ball is unstitched, the bat has cracked, the racquet needs restringing and the grass and dirt have become one… and then practice some more.

The Cape Town Corporate Games would like to welcome the V&A Waterfront and Sanlam to the Worldwide Corporate Sports Community 100 Club Members.
