Cape Town, Africa’s sport event capital, invites you to join the Games

With its soft sandy beaches, stylish and retro night life, hip hotels, mouthwatering restaurants and an endless list of unforgettable activities, it is no surprise that Cape Town is Africa’s most popular tourist destination. It is a city of arts and culture overflowing with creativity and entertainment.

One of the many reasons that make Cape Town such an amazing destination is the fact that it is also a sport lovers dream. With the scenic views along the natural outdoor territory, it is popular for various sports at top locations around the city. Activities range from the hiking trails in and around the city, mountain biking in the Tokai Forest, to the more adventurous sports like paragliding off Lions Head and abseiling down Table Mountain. Cape Town has it all.

Top sporting events that are hosted by Cape Town are Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour, Absa Cape Epic, Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon and the J&B Met just to name a few.

One of the newest members added to the above list is the Cape Town Corporate Games. 3rd South Africa, Official License holders of Corporate Games South Africa, The World’s largest multi-sport festivals for businesses and organisations are proud to be hosting the second edition of the Cape Town Corporate Games from 06-09 June 2013.

Cape Town Corporate Games Adopt a School

Nowadays there are so many charities that need help, that choosing one can be a grueling process. However, for the team here at the Cape Town Corporate Games the decision was quite clear when we heard about the Tag Rugby association. Seeing that one of the new sports that we are adding to our sports list in 2013 is tag rugby, we could not deny the coincidence as well as the relevance.

Not only does the Tag Rugby Adopt a School Programme help children off the streets and away from the ills they are confronted with on a daily basis, but they do this by encouraging the children to participate in sport.

By playing Tag Rugby, the children do not only learn to be active, but get so much more out of the experience. Sport teaches these children to play peacefully among each other, to respect their peers, to respect the rules of the game and the list goes on. Recognising the need for both sexes to play sport together, Tag Rugby deletes the fear of injury as it is a no contact sport.

In this programme a Corporate Company Adopts a School in their immediate area or a school that most of their workforce would go to. Tag Rugby will supply all neccesary equipment, show the children of the Companys’ school of choice how to play, empower a teacher and some students to supervise the games on an ongoing basis and will supply the Corporate Company with a report and pictures once a term on the progress of the school.

This truly is a cause that the Corporate Games believe in and we look forward to be part of such a magnificent initiative. We invite all companies/charities to use the Games as a platform to raise funds for their own charities too.

Staying in the spirit of sport.
